Jr Does: A’Lil Rusty Future
Doe is a term used to distinguish mature females, more than one year of age, from a doeling, a young female goat. A mother doe is referred to as a Dam, which is the female parent in the genetic lineage. Sometimes a doe is also called a Nanny. Historically,a female goat symbolizes excellence, great love, strength, virility, leadership, and fertility. Our does are hand-selected from the finest herds nationwide, demonstrating features sought after in bloodlines that demonstrate pristine breed conformation, qualities, supreme milk production, and showmanship is our focus. Building strong bonds with our ladies is key to the success of each doe individually, as well as the herd as a whole. The professional journey of each animal is based on the fundamental core values of the breed standard,s with the intentions of being a quality performance herd.
On a regular basis, we break out for some freelance socialization and exploration. This exposure for a young domesticated animal, to independently investigate a variety of people, animals, objects and situations, minimizes fear and aggression, promoting friendliness and trust. The animals on the farm cohabitate and are exposed to enriching environments and experiences.
"I dislike the thought that some animal has been made miserable to feed me. If I am going to eat meat, I want it to be from an animal that has lived a pleasant, uncrowded life outdoors, on a bountiful pasture, with good water nearby and trees for shade. Eating is an agricultural act."
