PURCHASING GOATS FROM A’LIL RUSTY FARM
The future of our goats is important to us!
Our purchase and reservation policies help ensure they put their best hoof forward in their new herd!
We work hard to breed animals whose value speaks for itself, and maintaining a reputation as a positive contributor to the Nigerian Dwarf breed is the most valued reward on this journey. If you are interested in bringing our genetics into your herd, please reach out. We would be happy to help you choose an animal and work with you to ensure they are set up to live a long, happy and successful life with you at their new farm.
If, for whatever reason, a buyer decides to sell their A’Lil Rusty Farm animal down the road, we do ask that you offer us first right of refusal to purchase it back. That said, the health of our herd is of the utmost importance, and we take great measures to maintain the highest biosecurity standards, so there is no guarantee that we will bring an animal back onto the property. So although we may not be able to acquire back any goat that is offered, we may be able to provide suggestions as to who may be interested.
Performance Measures count to us long after any of our goats have joined your herd. We consider your purchase just the beginning of our professional relationship and look forward to watching you and your herd achieve your goals! We cherish the humans that dairy goats bring into our lives, and love getting updates on your family, farm, and any goats you’ve purchased from us. We look forward to working alongside you and celebrating accomplishments together.
Our entire herd is managed to remain CAE, CL and Johnnes free, and our bucks are all DNA verified. If you have any questions about these practices or would like to see test results, please reach out to us directly.

NO ANIMALS WILL BE HELD WITHOUT A 50% DEPOSIT
Kid Reservations
A nonrefundable deposit of $100 is required to hold your reservation. This deposit will be applied to the kid’s price at time of purchase.
Once the kid has been born, I will reach out to confirm that you are still interested, at which point a 50% deposit is required to hold the kid until pickup.
Wethers, castrated male goats that cannot be used for breeding, are available every year for $150 and can be purchased on the bottle or after weaning at 8 weeks.
In some cases, bottle babies may be available before weaning, in which case the buyer assumes the responsibility of bottle feeding them until at least 8 weeks of age.
Unless otherwise arranged, all kids must be picked up when they are weaned at 8 weeks of age.
ADULT ANIMALS
Price is non-negotiable and based on the individual animal’s performance and achievements as well as pedigree.
Adult animals are available immediately unless otherwise noted
Payment
Payment is due in full prior to the animal leaving the property.
Deposits can be paid via PayPal. Must use “friends and family” option or pay an additional 4% transaction fee
All deposits will be applied toward the total purchase cost of the animal, with the final balance paid at or prior to pickup
Cash is accepted if the animal is picked up in person
Animal Pickup
The departure date of all animals shall be set at a mutually agreed-upon time as delineated in the purchase contract.
Any reserved kids not picked up on an agreed-upon date within one week of their weaning shall incur a boarding fee of $5/day
Any animal (kid or adult) not picked up at the agreed-upon date shall incur a boarding fee of $5/day for the first 7 days and $10/day thereafter.
If an animal is not picked up within 14 days of the originally agreed-upon date, the sale is terminated, and all deposits are considered forfeit. The animal may then be retained or relisted for sale.
Animal Health
We guarantee that our animals are healthy at the time of sale. Once the animal leaves our farm, we can no longer be held responsible for their health status. If, for whatever reason, the animal for sale falls ill before pickup, arrangements will be made to ensure their health is recovered before transport. Any health or genetic testing or veterinary inspection of an animal may be arranged at the expense of the purchaser.
ADGA Registration
All animals sold as registered will leave the property with a signed transfer. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to complete the transfer filing and pay fee to the ADGA.
Transport
No animals will leave the property, either with the new owner or transporter, until payment is made in full. It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange and pay for all transportation and associated costs, including but not limited to:
ground/air shipping
cost of any required CVIs or other veterinary inspections/testing
cost of shipping equipment eg: crate
We would love to meet you in person! So planning a way to pick up from the farm or meet us is always preferred, but if that is not possible, other options include:
Air shipping - contact us for up-to-date information as locations change their restrictions frequently
Ground transportation - there are several shippers nationwide, and we can make suggestions if you do not have an existing relationship with a transporter
