Sire is a term used to distinguish the male parent of an animal that is kept for breeding. Also known as a"Billy," a mature, intact male horned animal that is fertile is called a buck. A young intact buck who has not yet reached full maturity (3 - 4 years) is a buckling. A wether is a castrated male who is no longer fertile. Historically, the buck, or male deer-like animal, symbolizes greatness and excellence, often associated with strength, virility, and fertility. A spiritual authority, devotion, regeneration, rebirth, and God's care for men. Being “sired by” is a respectful archaic address for a male sovereign with rank and authority, meaning senior or elder.
